Avant-garde artist unveils new mirrored room and pumpkin works

Shinjuku sees the opening of a Yayoi Kusama Museum, dedicated to the avant-garde artist known worldwide for her polka dot and pumpkin patterns. Creation is a Solitary Pursuit, Love is What Brings You Closer to Art—the inaugural exhibition presents 16 works including those never released before from the latest painting series “My Eternal Soul,” recent works such as the collection of black-and-white drawings “Love Forever,” the global unveiling of an installation from Kusama’s signature mirrored room series, and a new pumpkin sculpture in the rooftop gallery. Get the full experience of Kusama’s worldview in the making. The inaugural exhibition is on until February 25, 2018.
